Kelly Clark Orangey Pink Pear

Sorry to have been AWOL.  I had a terrible headache for three days!  I had brain scanned today and we are wondering what on earth is in there?!  I stitched the bottom right corner Thursday night.  It looks like a quilted jacket.

It's done!

Melissa Shirley's Birdhouse Cracker

Border Happiness
I stitched the frame with two strands of Hi-Lights.  After all the tries, this seems so obvious!
Hearts from Carolyn Baird
I added more leaves, the black and white squares, and topped them all with sequin hearts.  I hope I get to finish this tonight.  Oh, and stitched the gold rows with 6 strands of Accentuate.

Melissa Shirley Birdhouse Cracker

I stitched the little pink dots of the white background in a cross stitch using Hi-Lights.  I tried reverse Scotch using Neon Rays down the right side of the border.  I tried alternating scotch across the bottom using Hi-Lights and floss.  Not sure I like either one.  Hmmm….

Melissa Shirley's Pink Acorn

Overview
I decided on dark centers.  Thanks for the advice, Diane.  I ran out of the light Neon Rays.  Snow day tomorrow so probably no driving to The Needle Works.  On to something else.

From green pears to pink acorns

I love this acorn.

The darker centers are done with highlights but I am not sure I like them.  The other centers are started with a matching Neon Rays.

Bit by bit

Not much stitching last night.  I was glued to the Aussie Open plus Penny the Puppy was acting like a maniac.  Here's the small amount of progress:

Finished the middle left section and tried a Van Dyke

Section by section

I think one of the best things about these sampler pears is the sense of accomplishment you get by finishing one section.

Stitched the lower left section Monday

How could she possibly buy another pear?

Because they are so cute!  Another one from the club I joined at The French Knot in Fort Worth, TX.   The pears are by Kelly Clark and the stitch guides by Paula at The French Knot.

The Yellow Rose of Texas

Did the Yellow Rose of Texas with silk ribbon

Overview

Started the edge and ran out of Kreinik

Made a little circle around her head for finishing purposes
I so wanted to finish this last night.  I could not find anymore 202HL to save my life.  I looked through the hundreds of bags of threads around here with no luck.  I hope I have time for a run to The Needle Works tomorrow.

Kelly Clark Stocking Pear finished!

Stocking Pear from The French Knot
I spent about a million dollars trying to find the right threads for the stars.  I ended with the expensive Threadworx overdyed metallics.  So worth it!  I couched on the fuzzy red trim that I bought in Houston for like a $1 a yd.  Really adds to it.  Now to the finishers.

Trip to Joann's

I went to Joann's today in search of embellishments, floss and fabric.  I got this fat quarter for $.99.  I think it will look so cute on the back of this pear.

WIP's

Texas Painted Pony Angel
On Sunday I stitched the collar and her necktie.  I stitched the silver star and the state of Texas shape.  I could not find the proper color brown for the Alamo or the correct gray for the armadillo.  I also need some silk ribbon to create the yellow rose.  Now what?

I could work on any of the following:

Betsy Ross from Melissa Shirley

Three French Hens from Shelly Tribbey

Wiseman from Kelly Clark with Amy Bunger stitch guide

Halloween Topiary from Kelly Clark

Birdhouses from Ewe and Eye

Boston ornament

Candy Cracker from Melissa Shirley
Which one?
